De eerste bestemming na vertrek: Parijs!
Terug in Barcelona.

We think nobody has ever done the Mamfe - Bamenda road with a 2cv during the rain season. During the 150 km from Mamfe to Bamenda we saw at most 5 cars. All extremely high 4x4 cars. But we made it. A lot of damage but we've done it! Extremely tired but a great feeling...

Cameroon was to good to be true so it deserves a second photo album
Entering Gabon was easy but a bit weird at the same time as we found ourselves on a brand new high way. What a difference with what we encountered later on
This is the first Congo. Also called Congo Brazaville I believe. Anyway, the fun really started here...
The Democratic Republic of Congo was exciting. Probably the most exciting sofar as the 2cv was lifted by 30 guys while I was still sitting in the car. This was all done to reach the neighbouring country of Angola and leave DRC before election excitement started.

Angola. 2000 km of road of which 1000 km did not deserve the discription ROAD yet. we made it but through this beautiful country and are impressed by the huge speed of development that it showed.

Arriving in Namibia was like arriving in a different world. Suddenly things were organised again. Nice in some way. It gave us the feeling that we actually might be arriving in Cape Town in a few weeks.

South Africa is the most diverse and at the same time most bizarre country in Africa that I have ever seen. But we certainly enjoyed it.
The country that made incredible progression in the past 10 years. It is becoming a poplular holiday destionation for South Africans. And not for nothing. This country has the most beautiful beaches in the world. Excellent diving spots, nice people, good food and lots of vibes. What more do you want in life?
We only visited Swaziland a single day but crossing the SA/Swaziland border was like arriving in a different world. You can cross the whole country in a few hours. The african version of Holland in that respect.

Madagascar is the only country where I really will be living for a while. I shipped the car to the ´Red Island´ and took an airplane myself to start working for BushProof where I will be responsible for the Marketing, Sales and Distribution of their new business. I had been looking forward to this.
At the moment of writing this I just found an appartment in the middle of the old center of Antananarivo. The good life can begin.

Madagascar will be the country where I will try to set up new business for Adriaan Mol and Eric Fewster's company BushProof. The aim is to introduce consumer products that purify water and deliver alternative energy at a affordable price for the Malagasy consumers. To give an idea the income per capita is about 300 dollars a year. In other words the products should be cheap, revolutionary and BushProof.

It really felt like being back in South Africa when we arrived at the airport. There is something intriguing about South Africa. This country is different from all other countries we've seen in Africa. Partially because of the history but also because of the vibes as you might call it. I know for sure that this will not be the last visit.

For us Zambia is the country where in a certain way 'the real Africa' starts again. At the border we realized that weren't really used to this anymore. Ten guys trying to frame you with changing money. Totally disorganised border services. Strange taxes. But oh how we enjoyed it and what a beautiful country.

Initally we didn't want to go through Botswana. The idea was to skip Mozambique and go through Botswana to Zambia to compensate a bit for the 4 weeks of time we lost in Madagascar. However it became one of the best parts of the trip because of the open mindedness of Richard who we interviewed and the encounter with Prince and Leo who where in charge of the graphics design for a national condom campaign and allowed us to film them.

The call it the 'Warm heart of Africa' to express the open way of communicating by the Malawian people. Besides that it is a beautiful country with a lake of which you can't believe it is not an ocean
Tanzania has its reasons to visit from a tourist point of view: the Kilimanjari and some famous game parks like the Serengeti. What we found is not only a beautiful country. Tanzania seems to have chosen the right track. People are starting their own companies taking responsibility for their own future with a clear social consciousness.

A groovy city, beautiful beaches, proud and energetic people. Kenya has it all. Things are changing rapidly in Kenya and we were lucky to have interview a number of people that certainly illustrate what is going on in Kenya at the moment.
